Where The Mind is Today

Research of the mind or psychology dates to as early as the 14th century. As the human species, our ability to decipher information from memories and use reason as a core function in life is what separates us from bees, giraffes, and butterflies.

Strong Mindset

Consciousness and unconsciousness as functions of the mind is what enables us to make sense of the world around us. It’s what makes us feel warm and fuzzy when it’s cold and snowing outside and all while the smell of hot chocolate fills the room. For example, my senses become elevated, thoughts become images, so naturally now I want a cup of hot chocolate. That is the power of having a good, solid mindset – foundational pillars.

Our mindset is the greatest asset we own, without it our creations wouldn’t exist. Remember, that all of what we see around us was once a thought in the mind of a ‘doer’. So, it’s in our best interest we use our mindset wisely because it’s all we’ve got and our life depends on it. As people of this world, we must choose what information works for us and how we go about implementing it to make progress and create change. In other words, how does it apply to me now? How can I use this information?

Mindset in the Information Age

Modern times have become a playground filled with a wealth of information readily available for consumption. We interact more in a digital age then ever before and it’s something that doesn’t have data to support. From information that once travelled through books and filled libraries, to now into the palms of one willing to like or dislike a digital post because it interferes with their belief system is wildly absurd. That is why the information we feed ourselves is so significant to the way in which we develop as individuals.

power of the mindset and building foundations

Here are several tips for building the pillars of the mindset, read between the lines:

  • Set focused goals using a strong mindset
  • Have meaning and purpose
  • Hold yourself accountable
  • Embrace failure
  • Don’t sweat the little things
  • Activities and results
  • Have a team approach
  • Find inner alignment (using NLP)
  • Surround yourself with like-minded people
  • Fitness is not a sprint. It’s not a marathon. It’s a never-ending climb
  • Don’t take fitness so seriously
  • Efficacy / Efficiency / Effectiveness
  • Resiliency
  • Strategic, Big-Picture Thinking
  • Cultivating your resource toolbox (NLP can help with this)

The Importance of Having a Code Of The Mind

There is a code. There is a critical mindset- one of integrity, vigilance, agility, and competence. All are characteristics that can be developed and evolved, but you must want to change in order to see change. Again, the desire to shape an outcome must be met with a belief that things can be changed. In life only death is guaranteed.

Let’s be real, all else equal everyone is in control of their own lives. It’s what we believe that dictates the direction in which we journey. People aren’t subject to their previous circumstances. They are either a result of one’s own choices in life, or the choices of those before them- and what happens afterwards is up to the beholder.
